Bigger, Bolder, Better!
Yes, three of my favorite words and this ‘headline’ certainly will describe this edition of Clarity Magazine! Perfectly!
We have more pages with more relevant and interesting information from MDGLCC members. And, with Pride the month of April, we celebrate the colors of the rainbow in a very bold and exciting way! Also, our design team made some wonderful updates to the layout to continue to improve the appeal of the magazine. All of this adds up to another exceptional issue, The Pride Issue!
Thank you again to Steve Rothaus for his remarkable cover photo of the flag from the 2010 pride parade. Steve Rothaus covers gay and lesbian issues for The Miami Herald. His daily blog, Steve Rothaus’ Gay South Florida, is one of The Herald’s most popular, read by thousands of readers each week. He is the only reporter employed by a major U.S. newspaper to exclusively cover the LGBT community. We are quite fortunate to know Steve!
It would be an understatement to say how proud I am of the LGBT Visitor Center. Amazing place, with amazing stories! You should stop by for a visit (1130 Washington Avenue, Miami Beach, in the heart of South Beach). And, keep up with all the events that are calendared there. I had the pleasure, for example, of meeting Fred Hochberg, Chairman and President of the Export- Import Bank of the United States, when we spoke at the center recently. Fred is one of the highest ranking business leaders in the Obama Administration. The information he shared with the audience was business powerful. And, if you’re looking for a comfortable, safe place to hold your next board meeting, business meeting, etc., you should consider the LGBT Michael Aller – “Mr. Miami Beach” – Community Conference Room, located in Visitor Center.
